“When I Was the Sky is a nostalgic nod to one of our most iconic Hayley Paige original fabrics — the West — reimagined here with more zhuzhing and a touch of sentiment woven in. Every stroke of the sequin work began as original artwork, drawn and meticulously duplicated by hand, with hidden butterflies and birds tucked into the pattern — a little Easter egg of flight for those who look closely. The deeper sweetheart neckline and subtle side cutouts lend just the right amount of quiet sexiness, a reminder that your radiance is as limitless as the sky. The name itself is deeply personal to me — inspired by the idea that there are chapters in life when you feel expansive, untouchable, and completely yourself. When you wear her, remember: once, you were the sky. And maybe you still are.”
