Catherine & Darren

After a scenic proposal, Real Bride Catherine tied the knot to her husband Darren this year and had a stunning, vintage-inspired wedding. We adore her unique style and contagious energy so we were so happy to help her find her dream dress (and even her dream shoes!). We asked Catherine to tell us a little about how her and Darren met and share her dress shopping experience finding THE ONE. 

"I vividly remember the moment I first laid eyes on Darren, at a Canada Day party in 2015. Our mutual friend had mentioned setting us up months before that, I said no thanks.....then saw him and thought "oh he is cuuuuute, I change my mind about being set up!"

Fast forward two amazing years later and Darren proposed on a camping trip overlooking the lake, in the exact spot I had instagrammed a year before and though to myself, if there was ever a spot Darren would pop the questions, it's here. 

So many decision about the wedding were easy, like where we would have it/venue/church/etc., but my biggest worry was that I wouldn't find my dream dress. I really just wanted something unique and different, yet classic with vintage elements.I started looking around the city, trying on dresses at several shops, always leaving feeling defeated as nothing came remotely close to what I wanted, and everything I tried on I felt like I had seen before. 

Then came Novelle. Thank God! Shannon and Diana (both Angels) told me right away they had options for me, I was skeptical, then blown away when I loved everything they brought me to try on. I kept coming back to the Udara dress by Willowby by Watters, with its ivory lace, romantic yet sexy feel (the slit up the front shows the right amount of leg), fluttery sleeves, light in weight for a June wedding....I fell in love, and was beyond relieved to have found "the" dress. And "the" shoes! Mimosa in mint by Rachel Simpson, so comfortable- I need them in every colour now!

The first thing Darren whispered to me on when I reached the end of the aisle on the day? "You look so amazing, I LOVE your dress".
