As soon as we saw Michelle's contagious smile we knew we had to share her story! We love how much fun not only the bride and groom had, but their bridal party as well, all beautifully captured against the Edmonton backdrop.
"Kev and I first met back in 2014, through a mutual friend at his condo during a birthday/housewarming party. We both made nothing of it, in fact Kevin soon left after introducing himself to me over a casual handshake and name intros. Although, I was immediately captivated by his beautiful smile and mesmerizing green eyes.
Fast forward to November of the same year and we run into each other again through the same group of friends, this time for a different friend's birthday. Neither him nor I planned to be out that night but after a lot of bribing from our friends, they successfully convinced us to come. I remember seeing him across the bar, sitting at a table with some of our friends, and I thought to myself "hey I know that guy from somehwere" and he was thinking the exact same thing about me.
He spent the next six weeks trying to convince me to go out on a date with him, but I kept having excuses. Finally, one night he texted saying that if I was still interested that I could send him a text when it was convenient for me. I was shocked by both his perseverance and directness. I was intrigued and agreed to a date on a Friday night to a Malaysian restaurant, and a surprise Oilers game! With a super late night visit to Earls for dessert. It was the best date I have ever been on!
Then in January 2017, on "Lovers Island", a private island in the Philippines, surrounded by family and friends, Kev got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! It was the most perfect moment.
I started my hunt for a wedding dress immediately after coming home from our trip. Novelle was the one of the 6 bridal stores I went to. During my first visit I brought my cousin, who was also my MOH, and we were met by the lovely Diana who helped me find my dream wedding dress. At this point I had tried on over 30 dresses, including the five other places we had visited. When I tried on the Allure 9452, no other dress could top it. I kept comparing it to everything I tried on after. My cousin even got teary-eyed seeing me in the dress.
My next visit, I brought my best friend, and she had the same reaction as my MOH. The third and final visit was with my mom, my two aunties, and cousin who had not seen me in the dress before, not even in pictures! Diana helped get me in two other dresses before putting on the Allure gown, and immediately the decision was obvious. Everyone got teary-eyed seeing me in the Allure dress, deposit not knowing which one I had chosen. I wanted them to experience the authentic "say yes to the dress" moment, and it was absolutely perfect.
On July 21, 2018 I got to marry my best friend, wearing the most beautiful dress. I remember everyone saying "that dress is so you!". Our wedding day was everything we dreamt of and more. The ceremony was beautiful, and the reception was nothing short of extraordinary. Every detail of the night was better than I had imagined. We were surrounded by our amazing family and friends. The weather, although started out terribly with thunder, lightening and rain, turned out to be perfect by the time we got outside for pictures. We ate, laughed, cried, danced, drank and sung our hearts out. Our friends are still talking about how it was the "wedding of the year!". Kevin and I would do it all over again. "
