After a dream proposal in a rose garden in Europe, Abby and Tony couldn't wait to plan their dream wedding with a little rustic charm. Unfortunately for Abby, her first shopping experience wasn't what she expected and she ended up settling for a gown that she wasn't excited to wear. After months of trying to make it work, she took a chance and decided to try and find her bridal moment here at Novelle, and we're so happy to share that we were able to help her find THE ONE! We asked our gorgeous bride to share her story. 

"Tony and I met showing cows in Claresholm, Alberta, three and a half years ago. If you would have asked me three years ago if I saw myself marrying Tony, I would have answered an easy no. Fast forward a year into dating and we were inseparable- I couldn't imagine spending my life with anyone else. 

Tony asked me to marry him on our family vacation in Amsterdam, in June of 2017. We were in Vondelpark, exploring the rose garden that I dreamed of visiting since I was a little girl. He asked me on one knee in front of the most beautiful red rose bed (my ABSOLUTE FAVOURITE). I thought he has passed out from all the walking as he had a broken leg at the time, but to my surprise I turned around and was smacked in the face with my dream guy, dream ring and dream proposal. He could not have made it more perfect. Although we were only both 20 at the time, when you know you know. I didn't want to wait to spend the rest of my life with my soulmate. 

Buying my dress was the hardest part of our wedding; my first experience was one I like to call my bridal nightmare. I felt overlooked as a young bride, and rushed into choosing between only three choices. I was so overwhlemed with the wedding and made a decision way too quickly. But I purchased the dress anyways, thinking a seamstress could make the changes I wanted. At my first fitting, the dress didn't fit me, it was too short and the top was not what I wanted. This all happened two months before "I do"! I could not walk down the aisle in this. 

I had heard so many amazing things from family and friends about Novelle, so I decided to give dress shopping a second chance. I was blown away by the loving atmostphere and the aesthetic of the shop. I was helped by Vivienne and I couldn't have asked for a better bridal consultant. Novelle helped me find my dream dress with only two months before the wedding. My dress was a stunning lace, illusion neckline. I felt so beautiful in this dress and I wouldn't have walked down in the aisle in anything else. 

We were married on my husband's farm, in front of a 90 year old apple tree, the second Saturday in July. Our wedding was romantic, timeless and included a little rustic charm. I can honestly say from start to finish our wedding day was absolutely perfect, from the little details to the big ones It was the best day ever and I will cherish the moments and memories we shared with family and friends for a lifetime."
