Every Bride Welcome

Earlier this month, we had the absolute pleasure of welcoming Morgan from Every Bride Welcome (@everybridewelcome) into Novelle, to talk about curve sizing in Bridal.

Curious what she’s all about? We’ll let Morgan take it from here:

"Hi! I’m Morgan — a 28-year-old Okanagan plus size girly with a love for all things bridal. I am currently working on a passion project called “Every Bride Welcome” over on Instagram. My current goal is to highlight size inclusive boutiques across the Lower Mainland. "

During her consultation, Morgan tried on a few standout gowns, including the romantic Lissy by Madi Lane, the vintage-chic Charlotte by Locket, and the modern, structured Rachel by Lis Simon.

At Novelle, we know that size inclusivity isn’t one-size-fits-all. Sizing varies by designer and collection, but many of our gowns are offered in sizes 0–24, with select designers extending up to size 32. In some cases, we’re also able to customize sizing to ensure the best possible fit—because every bride deserves to feel confident, comfortable, and celebrated.

Are there any specific challenges you face in providing size-inclusive options, and if so, how do you address them?

One of the biggest challenges we face in providing size-inclusive options is simply choosing what to bring in. As a small business, every gown we select is a meaningful investment, so having the right insight into what our brides truly want is essential! That’s why projects like the one you’re working on are so valuable—not just for the brides in our community, but for boutiques like ours.

Based on my own experience and research - this city lacks accessibility to plus size garments of any occasion but especially bridal ware. With the feedback you have received from customers regarding your size offerings - would it appear that there is a significant demand for plus sized bridal ware in the market?: 

There’s absolutely demand! While we haven’t had many instances where we felt that our curve selection was too limited, we recognize that this may be because we’re still building our reputation as an inclusive boutique. As we grow, we want our brides to know that we truly listen—any feedback about missing sizes, styles, or fits directly informs our buying so we can keep expanding our offerings with intention.

For many brides, dress shopping can be an emotional journey. It can be especially daunting for plus size brides due to lack of access to gowns and lack of inclusivity in the bridal and fashion industry. How does your salon foster a space where every bride feels beautiful, respected, and safe?

Saying “YES” to the dress is such a special part of every bride’s journey, and creating a warm, comfortable experience is at the heart of what we do. Our team is trained to prioritize kindness, comfort, and clear communication, and we guide each bride through her appointment at her own pace—ensuring she feels supported and celebrated. 

And lastly - What advice would you give to brides who may be concerned about garment shopping and finding a dress in their size? 

Our biggest piece of advice is to be intentional rather than booking as many appointments as possible. Choose salons that align with your values, communicate openly about their size offerings, and make you feel welcomed from the very first interaction. When you’re selective about where you spend your time, you’re much more likely to have a positive, confidence-boosting experience—and that makes all the difference.
