We cannot get over the incredible photographs from Janan and Ryan's wedding! It took place on the first day of Spring this year, and we absolutely adore this couple. After being encouraged to speak long distance by mutual friends (who knew they were meant to be!) Janan and Ryan met for the first time in Arrivals at Kelowna airport and now 5 years later they are sharing precious moments together surrounded by all of their loved ones. We asked Janan to tell us more about how her and her husband met, her dress shopping experience and her beautiful big day.
"Ryan and I met through mutual friends. At the time, I was living in Kelowna and Ryan was living in Saskatoon. Our friends knew us both as individuals and forecasted our compatability as a couple (yes, we are forever greatful to them). After a little encouragement from our friends, Ryan reach out to me via email. We spent a few weeks getting to know one another from a distance and then Ryan flew to Kelowna to meet me for the very first time. We first laid eyes on one another in arrivals. Ryan was carrying a big, beautiful bouquet of flowers for me. In that moment, I did not know that one day I would marry that man but I did know that any man willing to travel with flowers for me was someone that I wanted to know. Fast forward 5 years and that man proposed to me at afternoon tea in London.
On our wedding planning to do list, finding my wedding dress was one of the first items. I wanted a dress that was timeless and that would fit the feel of our venue, The Old Timers Cabin. I took my sister (my MOH), my mom and my dad with me on the dress hunt. Novelle was the 3rd bridal shop we visited. Vivienne was our consultant and had such a lovely energy. Ultimately, I fell in love with and said yes to my dress which is Mikaella style 2100. The beautiful lace, plunging neckling, open back and the dramatic train- I loved everything about the dress. When I tried this dress on, I felt sophisticated. I felt sexy. And most importantly, I felt like me.
Ryan and I were married at The Old Timer's Cabin in Edmonton, AB on the first Saturday of Spring. Walking down the aisle towards Ryan was a moment that I will never forget. We locked eyes and I felt so incredibly loved and filled with excitement for our future together. One of my favourite moments of the day was right after the ceremony, Ryan and I dipped into the limo, just the two of us. We shared some champagne and just soaked up the moment. On our wedding day, we were surrounded by those who love us most and it is a day that we will cherish forever. "
