There's no doubting Novelle Bride Julianne's sense for adventure, and we love all of her sentimental touches showing her and her husband's love for both Australia and Canada. Here is her story:
"Lance and I met through my best friend four and a half years ago. We had an amazing first date and he asked me to be his girlfriend that night. We were inseparable that Summer but the following Fall I moved from Alberta to BC for University. After that year I ended up switching to online studies, and from there Lance took me to his hometown in Australia! We spent two and a half months camping around Western and South Australia, working on his family sheep farm along the way. After that we went back to Canada, and although we lived in the same town, Lance worked away for two weeks at a time in northern Alberta.
In December of 2017 Lance proposed while we shot off fireworks in a field with our best friends! That following February we flew to Australia again and within 4 months we had done a lap around Australia, which was a grand adventure that we'll always say made our relationship that much stronger (setting up a tent trailer day after day does test your patience with each other LOL). Then it's back and forth between the two countries a couple more times until August 2019 when we tired the knot in my hometown Cold Lake, AB
When it came to finding a dress I knew that I needed my Mom with me, so Canada it was! We drove 3 hours to Edmonton with only one dress appointment booked- Novelle! I fell in love with multiple dresses online and tried on each one alongside others that my amazing consultant Katie recommended. The whole process was so much fun and surprisingly stress free! The dress I said yes to happened to be the first dress I tried on. I loved how much the style suited my personality but also how much the fit flattered my body type!
Our wedding was seriously the best day and better than we imagined! We were even blessed with beautiful weather after weeks of rain. We had a lakeside ceremony that included pieces of our love for adventure and Australia. We made confetti cups out of Australian road maps and had eucalyptus in our bouquets and boutonnieres. Our Summers spent together in Cold Lake included lots of boating, and so we thought near the lake was the perfect location to say 'I do'. With both Canadians and Australians in our wedding party we had lots of little traditions and sentiments throughout the day that reflected our friendships and memories. We couldn't stop smiling the entire day and will always feel those warm, fuzzy feelings again when reminiscing on these pictures."
