Karli & Casey

"Casey and I met online four years ago, which seems to be the normal way to meeting people nowadays. We met for coffee at Remedy on 124th St for, what Casey referred to, as our "tester date" to make sure we both wanted to go through with a real date. We hit it off almost immediately. We had a lot in common, such as our love of hockey and baseball, spending time with family and the quality of the Chai latte that Remedy serves. 

When Casey proposed to me after almost three years of dating, I knew immediately that I wanted to shop at Novelle. I lived just a few blocks away for a number of years and walked by the store often- each time in awe of the beautiful dresses in the window. 

Jessica was my consultant and she helped me shop with such ease. She has such a way of making what can be an exciting and stressful task be so comfortable and fun. I had a number of personalities in my entourage that day, and Jessica made sure that my opinion was in the spotlight and what mattered most. I fell in love with my dress, by Kitty Chen, then instant I put it on. Nothing else compared to it after that. I was insistent that it was THE DRESS. I had another appointment that day at a different dress store that my Mom urged me to keep so that I had some variety when trying on dresses. I went to the other shop and still nothing compared to my Kitty Chen dress at Novelle. I was back at Novelle the next week with one of my bridesmaids to show her the dress, and bought it that day. 

A few months after my wedding dress appointment, we also ended up finding my bridesmaids' dresses at Novelle and it was such a fun afternoon. The girls were so happy with their dress choices, as two of my bridesmaids ended up being pregnant for the wedding day! The dresses they chose accommodated their bumps and they were comfortable throughout the whole day. 

Our wedding day, August 17th, arrived with the most beautiful blue and sunny sky, which we were grateful for given the not so nice Summer we had up until then. Our ceremony went off without a hitch, besides me crying like a baby (which I was not expecting), while my Dad walked me down the aisle. Our photographers, Crown Photography, caught every special moment and I am so happy to have those pictures for forever. Our bridal party picture locations were at Queen Elizabeth Park overlooking downtown Edmonton and the River Valley, as well as Remedy on 124th , where Casey and I had our "Tester Date". As luck would have it, the exact table we sat at four years prior was open. Those are some of my favourite pictures and show us looking so happy in such a special place.
