Lacey & Blake

09/06/18 BLOG EVENTS NEWS

We were so happy to hear that we were able to find our bride Lacey's dream wedding dress, especially as the style she chose ended up being totally unexpected! After seeing so many gorgeous bright and vibrant photos from their big day we invited Lacey to share her story.

"Blake and I met when we were only 17 years old. We never went to school together, so I can't really refer to him as my "high school sweetheart". We did, however, have the same after school job at a grocery store! A few days a week I worked in the clothing department of superstore and Blake worked stocking fruits and veggies in produce. It's totally hilarious now to look back on. After weeks of awkward silence in the lunch room, we began to talk which eventually led to us seeing a movie. We became instant best friends and we have never spent one day apart since!

In the early years of us dating, we often travelled to the mountains. We always made an annual trip to Banff, so it only made sense that he would propose in the beautiful Lake Louise. He got on one knee in the early afternoon right in front of the lake, with the gorgeous Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise behind us. Even though it was May, there was still snow on the ground and it looked so pretty against the bright blue sky!

I started planning the wedding right away. We were so excited! I knew from the start that I wanted to get my dress at Novelle after hearing such good things from a friend. Novelle was the first shop we went to and also the only shop we went to. I originally thought I wanted a tulle skirt on my dress- something really feminine and pretty. After trying a few on, I knew that it wasn't the style meant for me or my body. Jessica brought in some of her choices and it was a dress she chose that I ended up falling in love with! I always knew I wanted something elegant and timeless but the dress she chose was something I never would have picked for myself. It arrived fast and fit me like a glove, the only tailoring needed was a little hemming. I loved how white it was and the fit was timeless. The Mikaella 2087 was perfect for our day! Any how amazing is it that it was made in Canada?!

We got married on August 4th, 2018, in the beautiful Moonflower Room in Hole's Greenhouse. The Enjoy Center was a perfect venue for our intimate 50 guest wedding. Bright, colourful and modern are a few words I would use to describe our ceremony and reception. People are still talking about how gorgeous and fitting the venue was for us. Our day was perfect and thanks to Novelle I had the perfect dress too. The lace back, crystal buttons, illusion neckline, and beaded belt were stunning against the simple white skirt, It suited me perfectly!"
