Murphy and Connor made sure to take time in their Wedding day to truly appreciate and have fun with their friends and family, by including fun touches such as yard games at cocktail hour! After having the pleasure of helping the bride find her dream dress, we asked Murphy to share her story:
"I first met Connor in grade 10 and by the time grade 12 rolled around, we had become good friends and spent most of our free time together. Connor asked me out a time or two, but it was several months later when I suddenly saw him as more than just a friend and began to chase him. Luckily, Connor hadn't written me off yet!
In 2016, we took a trip to Mexico to celebrate our 7th anniversary. A few days into the trip, Connor sent me for a morning at the spa, and then we enjoyed a relaxing afternoon of sun, margaritas, and our favourite hobby; eating. Connor's plans were almost spoiled when I signed him up for a beer drinking competition, which to my initial disappointment, Connor (intentionally) lost. Later, a major storm flooded the beach where Connor had planned the proposal to take place. Despite the hotel strongly encouraging that they go with the backup plan, Connor had a good feeling, so he took a chance and instructed the hotel to go ahead as planned.
With a mere 30 minutes until "show time", the skies cleared, the beach miraculously dried up and Connor led me down a romantic, candlelit path to a table for two. Partway through dinner, Connor got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. A photographer that he had hired to secretly capture the moment was able to snap some photos that would allow us to relive the moment with friends and family once we returned home.
Fast forward a year and I booked my appointment at Novelle. My experience was perfect from the second I walked in the door! I didn't know exactly what style I wanted, but they were able to pull the perfect dress after asking me what I liked and didn't like. Trying on dresses at Novelle was a way better experience than any of the other places that I went. All of the dresses were gorgeous, so there were plenty of options to choose from. The private room was spacious and we never felt rushed or pressured. The girls were so knowledgeable about their dresses to show you how they will truly fit (something I found lacked at other stores!). The Mikaella gown I chose was actually the third dress I tried on, but I was convinced it couldn't be that easy, so I went to a few more stores before I ended up back at Novelle. I absolutely loved my dress! It was exactly what I had hoped for- classic, elegant and super lightweight and easy to move in.
Our wedding day was an absolute dream come true and the best day of our lives. We didn't know it was possible to be so happy and feel so loved by our friends and family as we did that day - our hearts literally could not have been more full. In between our ceremony and reception, we snuck away in a "getaway" car while our bridal party jumped in the limo and headed downtown for photos. It was so amazing to have that half hour drive together in order to have a moment alone while it sunk in that we just said our "I do's!" After photos we headed back to the venue in the limo which was a party in itself because we had the most amazing bridal party. We planned our cocktail hour to be outdoors with appetizers and yard games so that we could get there early and hang out with our guests before the reception started. It was amazing to have that time to chat with our family and friends since the day goes by so fast! We had the best time at our reception, crying and laughing through all the speeches, celebrating with our loved ones, indulging in delicious food and dancing up a storm! Our wedding was a dream come true and a day we will always remember."
