Franco and I met in a very Rom-Com fashion. I was working as a barista and after six months of regularly coming in for coffee, Franco asked me to go on a date....for coffee. Six years later, a house, a dog and many cups of coffee later, I think that date went pretty well.

When we got engaged in December 2021, after five years together, we already knew we wanted a Fall wedding and wanted to incorporate rich, earthy tones and nature. I also wanted to use my engagement ring as a source of inspiration for my wedding gown; Franco had designed it with the setting mount that looked like a flower for our love of the outdoors and especially our garden at home.

I already had an idea in mind of the style and silhouette, and had some great inspiration photos for when I arrived at Novelle. My consultant, Jessica looked through what I liked and I told her what I was inspired by. She pulled dress after dress that hit the romantic, earthy, boho look I was thinking and also helped me get out of my comfort zone to see what else I might like, and was absolutely helpful and supportive.

When she pulled the Brielle by Made Lane gown with its graphic floral lace and the beautiful and unique tulle back, I knew it was really special and it was definitely the one. The number one comment I got during and after the wedding was how the gown was "the perfect" dress for me, and how it looked like it was designed and made with me specifically in mind.

Our wedding day was a chilly but sunny October day, which was absolutely perfect if you know Edmonton Fall weather at all. We really got lucky! We got married October 15, 2022 on the Edmonton Country Club terrace with their beautiful tree in full Fall display of colour, which tied in with our colour scheme beautifully. It was everything we could have asked for and more. We will hold on to the memories made that day so tightly- it was truly special.
