"Me and my now husband met for the first time nine years ago at his school's graduation. I met him briefly there,  but nothing else came of it then. About a year later, I was walking to the mall and and I saw him pull into his parent's driveway, which was literally around the corner from my parent's house. I had a very strong physical attraction to him from the moment I met him, and so when I saw that he lived so close I was pretty excited. I reached out to him on Facebook like a stalker and asked him if he wanted to hangout since we were basically neighbours, and the rest is history. We bought our first house in 2018 and got engaged in February 2020, about 8 years after we started dating. 

I went dress shopping a month after I was engaged, just before the pandemic rally hit here. I had only gone to two stores, maybe tried on 8 dresses, but as soon as I walked into Novelle I saw it. It was hanging on the end of the rack near the door, and me and my mom knew it was exactly "me". I tried it on, and although it was a bit small I snagged it off the rack and had it tailored to fit me perfectly.

I never wanted a typical wedding dress- if you know me you know my style is pretty unique, and my engagement ring is a great example of that. I wanted a really intricate dress, and all of my bridesmaids said it was so me, which is the ultimate compliment. 

Wedding planning during a global pandemic is not for the faint of heart. Nine months of planning including four venue changes, four guest list changes and a province change with just three weeks until the big day. We ended up having it right in our home town, with just under 50 people. Despite the stress that came with all of that, the day could not have turned out more perfect. Our vendors were absolutely incredible, especially our photographer who we flew in from BC with the last minute change. It was truly the best day of both of our lives so far, and such a light in this otherwise dark year."
